Honoring Excellence Across John Deere Dealerships

[Sioux Falls, SD — October 2025] — C & B Operations is proud to announce that two of our outstanding technicians, Brandon Elgersma and Perry Poorman, have been recognized among the best in the nation in the 2025 John Deere Technician of the Year program. Brandon Elgersma has been named Territory Champion, while Perry Poorman earned the title of Division Champion. In addition, C & B Operations proudly nominated Brandon Manitz of Worthington, MN, and Ryan Brown of Chamberlain, SD, for their exceptional work and dedication.

What Makes a John Deere Technician of the Year?

The John Deere Technician of the Year program celebrates exceptional service technicians from John Deere dealerships nationwide. The awards recognize individuals who go above and beyond in technical expertise, customer service, and mentorship within their dealership teams.
Award levels include Territory Champion, Division Champion, and the overall National Technician of the Year.

This year, C & B Operations conducted an extensive internal nomination process that included 14 technicians, advancing four nominations to John Deere for final consideration. The recognition of two winners among those finalists highlights the exceptional talent and dedication found across the C & B network.


Spotlight on Division Champion Perry Poorman – Idaho Falls, ID

With over 19 years at C & B Operations, Perry Poorman began his career working in the yard before transitioning into a technician role. Since 2012, Perry has served as a field technician in Idaho Falls, ID, where he has built long-term relationships with customers and become a trusted mentor to younger team members.

Perry’s peers describe him as upbeat, dependable, and always ready to help:

“Perry is a leader in the shop. He’s always available to answer questions, mentor new technicians, and assist customers with a smile. His positive attitude is contagious, and his passion for John Deere equipment is unmatched.”

As a Division Champion, Perry will travel to Moline, Illinois, to attend a recognition banquet and enjoy exclusive factory tours at John Deere & Company headquarters.

Spotlight on Territory Champion Brandon Elgersma – Lake Park, IA

Brandon Elgersma, a field technician and service shop lead in Lake Park, IA, has been with C & B Operations for over 15 years. Known for his deep understanding of John Deere systems and his commitment to teamwork, Brandon enjoys troubleshooting complex problems, training new technicians, and keeping customers running during the busiest seasons.

His co-workers shared high praise in his nomination:

“Brandon is the go-to guy. Customers respect and trust him, and he returns that respect in every interaction. He’s calm under pressure and focused on solving problems quickly and correctly.”
